KINEXIA S.p.A. and BIANCAMANO S.p.A. ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH THE IRANIAN AUTHORITIES REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OF AN ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY PLANT FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF WASTE DISPOSAL ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF 'KARAJ, Alborz province, REPUBLIC OF IRAN
The signing of the MOU is a first result of the partnership agreement between Kinexia and Biancamano signed in the month of November 2014 in order to provide to the market a unique operator that combines the expertise of Biancamano in the Integrated Urban Waste and Environmental Services with the experience of Kinexia in environmental technologies and renewable energy.
The agreement covers a concession, not yet finalized, related to waste treatment and disposal with an estimated waste inlet of over 1,200 tons per day for 15 years and potential cumulated revenues of over 200 million Euros.
Milan, March 10, 2015. Biancamano S.p.A. ("Biancamano"), a company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and a primary private operator in Italy in the field of Waste Management - Urban Cleaning services, treatment of municipal waste and management of plants for selection and recovery of non-hazardous waste - and Kinexia SpA ("Kinexia"), a company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and active in the field of renewable energy and environment, announce the signature of a memorandum of understanding (“MoU”) (with the advisory of Montana Ambiente SpA) as part of their joint cooperation for the development of foreign markets.
The memorandum defines the cooperation of the two listed companies aiming at proposing to the Iranian public authorities and operators new solutions and business models - environmentally sustainable – in the treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste produced by the city of Karaj.
The MoU was signed following the visit and the discussions held on site between the representatives of the Italian companies and the Iranian authorities that took place on January and February 2015. The Iranian authorities that already last summer represented to Montana Environment the need to ask for support to high level and know-how European companies to enhance the management of their landfills have judged Kinexia and Biancamano, highly experienced operators from which to receive a project proposal that meets their needs thanks to their successful experiences, track record and transparency.
